Re­-Writing the Exam

How long does an applicant have to wait to re-write the C of Q exam if they are unsuccessful?

The applicant will have to wait 15 days from their initial exam date to re-write the exam.

How does an applicant re-book an exam?

After the 15 day period, the applicant will follow the same steps they took when registering for their initial exam.

  1. The applicant will contact the Skilled Trades Ontario Client Services at 1-855-299-0028 (toll-free) to pay their exam fee ($150 +HST). Payment can be made by: credit card over the phone, cheque or in person, using Debit.
  2. The applicant will contact the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development (MLTSD) to book an available exam date (to find the closest MLTSD office, click here). If the applicant requires any accommodations under the Human Rights Code that may assist in their exam, they will inform the Ministry at this time.
